Scottland FC have appointed former Zimbabwe international Peter Ndlovu to lead an interim technical team following their decision to part ways with head coach Norman Mapeza after the club’s disappointing exit from the CAF Champions League.
Ndlovu will be assisted by former Warriors captain Knowledge Musona, who has taken up the role of second assistant coach in a player-coach capacity, bringing his experience and leadership to the new technical setup.
The interim technical team also includes Danger Fourpence, who has been promoted from the Scottland Academy, and goalkeeper Talbert Shumba, who will combine his playing duties with coaching responsibilities.
Ndlovu’s appointment marks a significant change at the reigning Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League champions, with the former Warriors star expected to bring his football experience and leadership as the club seeks to regain momentum following its continental disappointment.
Musona’s elevation to a player-coach role adds another experienced figure to the technical bench. The former Warriors captain is expected to contribute both on the pitch and in the dressing room as Scottland navigate the transition.
Meanwhile, Fourpence’s promotion from the academy provides an opportunity to strengthen the connection between the club’s development structures and the senior team.
The new technical team faces the immediate task of stabilising the squad, restoring confidence and keeping Scottland competitive in their domestic campaign.
With Ndlovu and Musona now at the centre of the club’s new technical setup, attention will turn to how quickly the duo can settle into their respective roles and guide the reigning champions through this period of transition.
Scottland’s response to Mapeza’s departure will be closely watched as the club looks to put its continental setback behind it and refocus on its domestic ambitions.
