BREAKING: Mnangagwa Appoints Tagwirei Minister of Economic Development

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed businessman Dr Kudakwashe Tagwirei as the new Minister of Economic Development and Investment Promotion.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was announced in a statement issued by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Martin Rushwaya on Thursday.

According to the statement, the appointment was made in terms of Section 104(1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.

Tagwirei, who has been involved in several government-led economic initiatives, including the Land Tenure Implementation Committee, now takes over the portfolio responsible for economic development and investment promotion.

The appointment comes as the government continues to pursue measures aimed at attracting investment, expanding economic activity and advancing its Vision 2030 agenda.

The Presidential statement did not give reasons for the appointment or provide further details on Tagwirei’s mandate in the new role.
