Highlanders Football Club has acknowledged Wicknell Chivhayo’s Benjani Mwaruwari offer, but stopped short of rejecting it outright, pointing out that decisions at Bosso are made by the boardroom, not the bank.
While the club welcomed the spirit behind the offer, it made clear that coaching appointments are governed by established internal procedures, not external endorsements.
In a press release dated 01 December 2025, Highlanders emphasized that it is currently finalizing its own candidate to replace outgoing coach Mr. De Jongh ahead of the new season.
The statement also thanked Chivhayo for his continued support and hinted at bigger ambitions as the club approaches its centenary in 2026, a subtle reminder that legacy cannot be outsourced.
It appears Bosso appreciates the flowers, but it still chooses who waters the garden.
