Five Zimbabwe cricket supporters are set to travel to India to back the Chevrons in their remaining ICC Men’s T20 World Cup fixtures after securing sponsorship from beverages giant Delta Beverages.
The supporters, drawn from the popular Castle Corner fan group, had followed the team during the group stages in Sri Lanka but were unable to proceed to India for the Super Eight matches.
In a statement, Delta Beverages, through its flagship brand Castle Lager, confirmed it will bankroll the trip to ensure the fans continue rallying behind the national side.
The company said the five “super fans” departed Harare on Tuesday for Chennai, where they will join thousands of supporters as Zimbabwe continues its campaign on the global stage.
“This all-expenses-paid sponsored trip underscores Castle Lager’s dedication to fostering local pride, unity and shared moments of celebration,” read part of the statement.
Delta Beverages Marketing Director Irimayi Muzorewa said the initiative reflects the brand’s long-standing belief in the unifying power of sport.
“Castle Lager has always believed in the power of sport to bring people together whilst creating memorable moments with our consumers,” said Muzorewa.
“Supporting the Zimbabwe Chevrons in their quest for success on the international stage is a proud moment for us. We believe that every match is a celebration of talent, resilience and national pride, and we are excited to be part of this journey.”
The sponsorship comes as Zimbabwe continues its push in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, with fans back home closely following the team’s progress and hoping for another memorable chapter in the Chevrons’ campaign.
